Steam-treated high-temperature wood "ThermoWood"
Significantly improved decay resistance with processing above 220℃! Japanese wood that won't decay for 10 or 20 years.
"Thermowood" is a type of high-temperature heat-treated wood that uses steam to significantly reduce moisture content, avoiding swelling and shrinkage of the wood, maintaining dimensional stability, and improving decay resistance. As the moisture in the cells decreases and air layers increase, thermal insulation properties are further enhanced. It can utilize locally sourced materials such as cedar and cypress. 【Features】 ■ Significantly improved decay resistance with treatment above 220°C ■ Further enhanced thermal insulation properties due to reduced moisture in cells and increased air layers ■ Ability to utilize locally sourced materials such as cedar and cypress ■ Low CO2 emissions throughout the entire process, with consideration for LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
